I am probably the only woman in the universe to propose to a man first but that's what it is. I believe that good things comes to those who go and get and closed mouths don't get fed! I proposed to Corey many years ago with a David Yurman ring my best friend Jas who used to work at Saks helped me acquire. He was complaining about the Saks bag and wondering what I bought when in actuality I purchased a ring to propose to him! After declining, not even two months later, he got down on one knee while we were on vacation in Miami at the David Yurman counter and we've been going strong ever since.
The hardest part about getting engaged is not the perfect moment because any moment is perfect when you're in love. It's getting the ring! There are so many options and us millennials are opting out of the traditional white Diamonds with baguette stones. My David Yurman ring was a black Pnyx with has diamonds accompanying the sides of the ring. The only problem with the silver and Onyx was that when I was tanned(see pic below) the ring didn't really compliment my skin. This time around, I'm looking for bright colors and possibly gold that will hopefully compliment my skin.
We've been engaged for so long, my ring doesn't even fit anymore! I've never been a traditional girl so I've been looking for unique engagement rings with different beautiful stones. Some stones I've been considering are Morganite engagement ring, Ruby(my birth stone), Amethyst, Sapphire and of course Emerald. Frugality is a major key for me(like many of us) so all rings are under $3,000.
What kind of ring are you looking for when you get engaged? Will you keep it traditional?!
