You've seen it before. Those misleading ass headlines that force you to click to find out the answer to the question in the title that you didn't know you wanted to know before. Clickbait is probably the most hated, yet underrated ways of garnering traffic for your blog.
If you do a quick search on Youtube for Jeffree Star Racist, your results will return some videos with open ended questions that you would have to CLICK to find out what the answer is. Clickbait is like the last episode the second to last season of a show, it really leaves you in pieces. As you can see, one of them got me. Each video here has well over 5,000 views with the one that I watched gaining over 1,000,000 views. That's fucking insane.
Here's how you can get a piece of the click baiting action without being spammy.
-Doing weekly round ups using trending hashtags
"This week in my life featuring the #patriots and National Cheeseburger day
-Creating titles with open ended questions e.g.
"Will he ever call me back?"
"What is the purpose of life?"
-Use words with shock value e.g
"This simple life hack will BLOW your mind"
"The most AMAZING picture I ever saw"
"Why I cursed my boss out and quit my job"
"The real reason why people"
"You'll be OUTRAGED at this girl's response"
-Using google searches that create controversy, stir emotion or memories
"Why do white people..."
"One time in band camp"
"Milk and cookies are disgusting"
